Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell; 2007: Sexuality? Military Enlistment; 1941: Nationality?
A WWII Bataan, Corregidor, Death March survivor, and P.O.W (a family friend), passed away, less than a year ago. Jack McKarson, the great grandson of the most revered, celebrated, courageous, Lakota Chief, Sitting Bull, after showing courage and valor, was listed as “white,” on military records. He was proud of his heritage, as seen by those who knew him. This pride is evident, as seen in the photo of his headstone. Please enlarge picture of his headstone to see the inscription in the bottom, left corner of this monument to a valorous Veteran of WWII.
